Get the Training You Need to Change Careers with Two New Workforce Education Classes
Looking to change careers? Three Rivers Community College is offering two brand new courses this summer that will give you the training you need. Basic CAD – Autocad and Introduction to Software Applications are the perfect first steps for those interested in a new career whether it is drafting or beginning a new role in an office environment. Employers can also use these programs for Three Rivers to train their staff.
Basic CAD – Autocad – Get the training you need to start a career in drafting. Drafters use software to convert the designs of architects and engineers into technical drawings and plans. They can specialize in architectural, electrical, or mechanical drafting and use technical drawings to help design everything from microchips to skyscrapers.
This course, with the lab, teaches you how to generate graphic images with computers. You’ll learn about hardware descriptions and requirements, 2D and 3D geometric construction, scaling, sectioning, plotting, assembly drawings, and more. This course will be held online from June 3 through July 28, and the registration deadline is May 27. Learn more at threerivers.edu/autocad.
Introduction to Software Applications – Get the skills you need to transition to an office job with an introduction to most software packages currently being used in industry, business, and government such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. You will also learn about the Windows operating system.
Employers will also find this course the perfect way to teach their new or transitioning employees these software applications. This course will be held online from June 3 through July 28. The registration deadline is May 27. Learn more at www.threerivers.edu/softwareapplications.
