Degree/Certificate:

General Studies, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2023

I wanted to earn my degree because:

It has helped boost my confidence and will advance my career opportunities.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

All of my family, close friends, and most of all my husband!

I’d like to give a shout out to:

My kids Emma, Jacoby, & Jarred: I am not sure I would have been as motivated without them. I did it for me, but for them too!
My husband Kenny: thank you for always believing in me, dealing with me, and helping me in every way possible to get me through this.
Monica, Eric and Vicki: you guys have been there every step of the way with support, advice, and words of encouragement.
All of my family: For all of the love, help with the kids, and words of encouragement.
And most of all, the one and only OMA: For all of the help she has provided my family in some of our most difficult times and making me walk the stage.
LOVE YOU ALL!!!

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

I loved the flexibility of getting an Associates in General Studies. I was able to complete the majority of my classes online from the comfort of my home and at my own pace.
This degree means more to me than most will know. I struggled in high school! I got married and had kids young and am so grateful for that, but after our second and final pregnancy, it was time for a change for the better! I knew I wanted to be something in life, but more than anything, I wanted to be successful for myself and my family. I received my High School Diploma in 2018 while being a fulltime CNA and immediately entered into college with thoughts of remaining in the medical field. As time went on, I had other ideas for careers like administrative work but still working with geriatrics. With being so indecisive and conversations with my advisor, I agreed General Studies can go just about any way possible and is a great start to my dreams.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

Three Rivers made every step of this path smooth. The professors, advisors, and the rest of the staff have always made me feel very welcomed and met every one of my needs.

I plan to use my degree to:

build on my career options and further my education.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

New career opportunities and less of a work load everyday.
