Graduate Guest Book

Eduen Lloyd Fontanilla Smith
Liberal Arts and Sciences, A.A.

Current Residence :

Groton, CT

Degree/Certificate:

Liberal Arts and Sciences, A.A.

Year of Graduation:

2023

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I earned my degree to get pre-requisites done to save money to transfer to a 4-year school. I also came here because Three Rivers allows you to make a mistake and learn how to grow from them.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

The Copy Center Staff
Professor Janet Hagen
Professor Kerry Beckford from Tunxis Community College
Kathleen Gray
Ja Ja Jackson, my cousin
Lou Smith, my mother
Aaliyah Tira, my best friend/chosen family
Yoshi Mercado, my best friend/chosen family

I’d like to give a shout out to:

Myself, for all the hard work I put in. Even through self-doubt I learned strength, confidence, and how to work at my own pace. My supporters helped me through of course, but I put the work in. No one could've done the work for me.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

The Liberal Arts degree was very versatile and allowed me to take courses, even if they did not necessarily count towards my career path, education.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

THE COMMUNITY! I am really lucky to have so much chosen family here that are worth being sad to say goodbye to. I am going to miss this school soooooo much, but because of my experience here, I am ready to take the next step into adulthood. This school watched me struggle with time management, burn out, and learning study hacks. Three Rivers also watched me grow and learn from trauma, loss of friendships/family relations, and was a conduit for the skills I have now. I am proud to be an addition to the alumni 🙂

Clubs, volunteer work, organizations that I participated in while at Three Rivers included:

I worked at the Copy Center <3

I plan to use my degree to:

BE A HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER!!!!

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Being an independent person and becoming a real adult.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

The people, the classes, the teachers; I think I'll miss everything. TRCC made school feel like a second home, not somewhere I go to just get a grade. I am going to miss every part of Three Rivers.
