Pathway to Teaching Careers, A.A.

I will also be graduating with the following additional degree(s) and certificates

General Studies, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2023

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I’ve always felt that I’m good at guiding others to success on material I know well, so pursuing that in a professional career was something that was just natural.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

Of course my family was my greatest support, giving me the time to decide which direction I wanted to steer my life in. Also, having the opportunities I’ve had with my professors and advisors was of great support as well.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

I’d like to thank my previous advisor Catherine Ray for initially guiding me to the ECSU representative on campus, Michelle Noonan, to start a conversation in regard to the transfer process. I’d also like to thank my recent advisor Tracy Dickson and Education professor Jennifer Nally for setting me up for a successful transfer to ECSU; I would be lost without them.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

What this degree means to me is that truly regardless of what the degree was in, I was able to put in the necessary work for it demonstrating that I was committed to my future goals, something that isn’t always the easiest endeavor.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

Having the ability to interact with my peers in a healthy and friendly manner was a blessing I cherished while at TRCC. I’ve always had a difficult time interacting with everyone around me, but this community felt truly genuine to me; I won’t ever forget my time at TRCC because of that.

I plan to use my degree to:

Help people show that there is always a way to learn new material, it just takes time and work. Who knows, maybe in that process they’ll learn something about themselves they didn’t know before, which I can testify about in relation to excellent teachers I’ve had in the past.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Continuing my education at ECSU. My journey to achieving my goals isn't over yet. Perhaps I will create new connections along the way!

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

What I’ll miss from TRCC the most is simply just being a part of the school. It felt like another place that I could call home because of the people that worked there, who truly desire for you to succeed in your goals. Having a support system is the best way to achieve your goals!
