I am the first in my family to earn a college degree.

Yes

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I wanted to better myself and further my career for not only myself but for my two children as well. After watching my mom do it all as a single parent and go into the medical field, I always looked up to her and wanted to go into the medical field to be able to help people in anyway I could.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My fiance Dylan Aikins, my uncle Robert Ellis, my mom Amy Allen, my grandmother Michelle Ellis, my grandfather Jack Ellis, my step father Greg Oregon, my two children Skylar and Everley, and my great grandmother Josephine Ellis, who I wish was still here with me to see the day I finally got my degree. I know she would have been very proud to see me finally get my hard-earned degree.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

I would like to give a shout out to my professor LuAnn Wolff. She was there for us throughout the process of our program and pushed me to my fullest to fulfill my wish of earning my degree in medical assisting. I've gone
through a lot in the past five years to get to where I am today. I'd also like to thank my fiancé Dylan Aikins, who supported me through the whole process and was there for me whenever I had struggles and accomplishments throughout my program.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

What I liked best about my program was all the different medical classes I was able to take; I learned a lot of new things within the field that will stick with me throughout my career. What my degree means to me is nothing but excitement and enjoyment that I finally have finished my hard-earned degree. I had previously gone to Ridley & Lowell before they had shut down and had to start all over again here at TRCC. I wouldn't trade this experience for the world! With all the extra practice and schooling I received, I am more than ready to start my career in the medical field and seek further education.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

What I enjoyed most was getting to meet new people in my classes. We all turned into one big support system for each other throughout our schooling, always ready to help one another. I have never had such an amazing group of classmates until I started my program here!

I plan to use my degree to:

I plan to use my degree to start to work within the medical field and then later go on to the MRI program next to become a MRI technician.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Finally being able to spend some much needed time with my family and kids, since they were there for me throughout the whole process and I wasn't able to be home as much.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

What I will miss most will be some of my professors, who I had the amazing opportunity to work with. After having to leave the wonderful professors at my prior school behind, Dawn Surridge, Jeannie Skiba, and LuAnn Wolff have done so much for myself and the rest of the class; I couldn't thank them enough!
