CanterburyDegree/Certificate:
Nursing, A.S.Year of Graduation:
2023I am the first in my family to earn a college degree.
YesI wanted to earn my degree because:
I wanted to begin a career that I'm proud of and that provides me with endless avenues to explore.
While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:
My husband, who maintained his patience and continued to believe in me even when I doubted myself. My daughter, Ava, who I hope I've inspired to never give up on her dreams. My mom and my sisters, who kept me grounded. My family in-law, who kept me laughing with our game nights. My best friend, who has waited patiently for me to finish school so we can actually see each other again. My fur babies, who were always there with sloppy kisses and endless cuddles.
I’d like to give a shout out to:
My bonus daughter Hannah, who inspired me to go back to school in the first place! She is my hero and I hope to be her when I grow up.
What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:
I loved how hands-on we were from the very beginning. I am graduating with the skills and confidence I need to be an amazing nurse.
What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:
The friends I've made in this program have become like family to me. The journey was anything but easy and I never could have made it through without my amazing group. I also appreciated the endless support from the professors. Their doors were always open for us to chat, cry, vent, and grab snacks.
Clubs, volunteer work, organizations that I participated in while at Three Rivers included:
SNA and PTK
I plan to use my degree to:
Become a registered nurse for Lawrence & Memorial Hospital in the cardiac unit.
Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:
Relaxing and taking a nice long break from studying!
What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:
Not being able to see my friends as often.
