I could not be more proud of my daughter and this achievement. She didn’t have it easy and had dealt with so many challenges most adults have never faced. Yet here she is! My eyes are filled with tears and my heart is filled with joy!! Nyasia you did it baby!!!! Class of 2023🎓 The future is yours, go get it❤️

Degree/Certificate:

General Studies, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2023

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I promised myself upon starting this degree program that I would see it through to the end, regardless of any trials or tribulations that may have occurred over the years. My love for criminal cases and investigations has driven me to venture into the criminal justice field within the last year.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

Former dean of students, Jodi Calvert, who was always in my corner and pushed me to continue my degree program no matter how many times I wanted to give up due to discouraging situations. Also my mother and her family, without them, I do not know how I would have had the determination to return to school, finish my degree, and now continue my education.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

My mom, Julie, and my late father, Michael, thank you for raising me to be a compassionate, determined young woman and to always want more for myself and to obtain anything I want for myself through hard work.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

I want to continue exploring the many avenues the criminal justice degree offers while obtaining my bachelors degree. I want to be the positive change in a person's life and the community you live in through the many fields in law enforcement.

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue my studies into criminal justice and obtain my bachelors degree at Charter Oak State College. Afterwards, I'd like to expand my expertise on investigations weather it is cyber investigations, missing persons, homicide, or something else!

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Getting my career started as a young adult.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

The amazing faculty.
