Engineering Science, A.S.

Current Residence :

Norwich

Degree/Certificate:

Engineering Science, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2020

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I want to get better job opportunities in the manufacturing field as well as guide many other foreign students to achieve their goals.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My mother Luisa Barrientos and my father Manuel Armas.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

Teachers like Mark Vesligaj, Terrence Delaney, and Kelly Molkenthin. They went above and beyond doing their job. They always had my back in the moments I needed the most. They did not just teach, but shared their knowledge, experience, and advice. I am forever grateful.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

What I like the best about my degree is that it always challenged me to do greater things. Things that I thought I could never accomplish, like passing Thermodynamics. This degree is proof that anyone can accomplish their goals as long as you have patience and do not give up.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

The connection I had with most of the teachers.

Clubs, volunteer work, organizations that I participated in while at Three Rivers included:

Phi Theta Kappa

I plan to use my degree to:

Transfer to a 4-year school (UCONN) and find internships over the summer that will allow me to get more experience.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Keep increasing my knowledge by getting my bachelor's degree, and in a near future a master's degree.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

The friends I got to make and how caring the teachers are.
