Criminal Justice – Enforcement Option, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2020

I am the first in my family to earn a college degree.

Yes

I wanted to earn my degree because:

I believe education is so incredibly important since certain jobs and opportunities are not available to you unless you are college educated. Knowledge is power and when you have knowledge and a degree that you have worked so hard for, no one can take it away from you and that serves as an incredible source of power, distinction, determination, and inspiration.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My mother, my Dad, my brothers, and my boyfriend and the love of my life, Brian.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

Snacks, because they kept me going when I needed an energy boost keeping up with all my classes, and of course to the class of 2020! We have worked hard for these degrees and we should all still celebrate and be proud of what we have accomplished, even though coronavirus messed with the rest of our semester.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

I mean the criminal justice program is just where it’s at! The professors are all amazing and so knowledgeable, the material you learn about it is incredibly interesting, thought provoking, eye opening and intriguing and there are always awesome fellow CJ majors to meet and become friends with!

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

What I enjoyed the most at Three Rivers were the amazing, hard working, very caring professors that always pushed me and reminded me that I was capable of earning this degree. Specifically Professors Nixon, Crouch and Sherry! The three of them have made such an impact on me and have always helped, encouraged and guided me while I worked towards earning this degree and I truly appreciate the three of them so much, they are the best!

I plan to use my degree to:

Continue my education. I start at Mitchell College in the Fall for a bachelors degree in Criminal Process and after I earn that degree, law school would be the next step.

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

I’m just excited to see what new opportunities are out there for me, continue onto the next steps in my educational journey, working hard and chasing after my dream of becoming a prosecutor.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

The amazing professors that have helped me and encouraged me throughout my journey towards my degree, the friends I have made while attending Three Rivers, and just the overall campus, so I think that’s everything. It’s a bittersweet feeling for me to leave Three Rivers after being a student here on/off for the last six years since I was 18, but I’m excited, ready and feeling good about the next steps I will take after Three Rivers.
