Degree/Certificate:

Engineering Science, A.S.

Year of Graduation:

2020

I am the first in my family to earn a college degree.

Yes

I wanted to earn my degree because:

Earning a college degree is a crucial step in life, and as an immigrant this is part of the my "American Dream." I want to get better job opportunities in life and also prove to many others foreign students that they can achieve their goals.

While earning my degree, my greatest supporters were:

My mom, who has always been there every step of the way. My biggest supporter, she encourages and guides me to do things the right way, reminding me of my worth.

I also want to thank Yoirys Gomez, who was there since day one cheering me on, and giving me the support I needed.

I’d like to give a shout out to:

I have come across two teachers that I wished that I could have taken all my classes with.

The first one is Kelly Molkenthin, who had the patience to teach me despite my limitations with the language, since I only had a year of moving to the United States without knowing a word of English when I took her Calculus class.

The second professor I would like to give a shout out is Mark Vesligaj, the way he directed the class made me comfortable to participate, and he also motivated me to put more interest in the engineering field.

What I like best about my degree program and what it means to me is:

The chance to work with technology, to understand how it works and how it could be improved. Also having the understanding to determine why and how something is deteriorating/failing and being able to do something about it is satisfying.

What I enjoyed most about my experience at Three Rivers Community College was:

What I liked most about Three Rivers was how much the professors truly cared about the success of their students and how easy it was to connect with them.

I plan to use my degree to:

Transfer to UCONN, I am planning on continuing my education and earning my bachelor's degree (Management and Engineering for Manufacturing)

Now that I have completed college, I’m most looking forward to:

Find an internship to put the knowledge learned into practice and also keep looking forward to increase my knowledge in the engineering and manufacturing field.

What I’ll miss most about Three Rivers is:

The community, diversity, the campus itself and I got to know many great students and professors during my time at Three Rivers.
